like father like son...

A background to this story...

If Mike is working on a project and something goes wrong you would more than likely hear the words bloody hell come out of his mouth. I didn't think the kids picked up on it because I have never heard them say it. Until this morning...

So you know that place we all get in when we are waking up? Ya know the one where you can say anything and not remember what you said. Well, this morning when Payton was in this stage I heard him say the words he hears from his Dad's mouth. Bloody Hell! I wasn't quite sure I heard it right because I was just waking up as well, but then he repeated himself again, and sure enough those were the words that came out of his mouth.

All I can say is that he learned it from Mike!

She didn't hear this from me...

So the kids and I were talking to Grandma Hansen today about Halloween and what everyone was dressing up as and Xo filled Grandma in on what she should be.
Here is how the conversation went...

G: What are you going to be for halloween?
X: Minnie Mouse, what about you?
G: I am going to be Grandma.
X: That's duddy.
G: NO!
(at this point I tell Xo to tell Grandma to be a witch, and she did w/ a twist!)
X: Grandma you should be a bitch!

I PROMISE she has never heard that word come out of my mouth!

Gotta love him

For some reason Payton is fascinated in wanting to know why we don't drink coffee or tea. Whenever he sees someone drinking it he will point it out to me and ask me why they are drinking it and we don't. We go through the explanation of why we don't and he drops the subject.
Well, today at breakfast I asked him what he wanted to drink and as honest as a 3 year old could say anything. He said "COFFEE". Thinking I didn't hear him I asked again. He looked at me like "duh, I know you heard me", and then said coffee again.
We couldn't help but laugh in the kitchen and then offered him another choice. Needless to say, he had chocolate milk!

Old news to most...

So most of you already know, but for those of you who don't...
Our family will be expanding by one in February!
The funny thing about this whole thing is that Payton knew that we were going to have a baby 2 weeks before we even found out. I was blown away when the test came back positive and then I just sat back and laughed. He is much closer to the spirit than I give him credit for. He has been walking around saying that it would be a boy and when we went to find out he was still adamant about the boy. Well, he was wrong on that one. We are having a girl! Lord help us all!

Commando anyone?

As of late Payton has enjoyed going commando. It is driving Mike CRAZY! So the other day I was in the bathroom getting ready and I over hear this conversation between the two...

M: Payton why aren't you wearing underpants.
P: I don't like to wear underpants.
M: You have to wear underpants so your not going commando.
P: Daddy, what is commando?
M: It's when you don't wear any underpants under your clothes.
P: But daddy, I don't like to wear underpants.
M: Well, when you wear clothes you need to wear underpants.
P: Why?
M: Because when you wear pants, they will rub your dingy and it might fall off and you will look like Xoie.
P: Daddy, I will wear underpants because I don't want my dingy to fall off.

By the end of the conversation I was laughing so hard! Needless to say he hasn't gone COMMANDO since!

A very belated birthday to Xo

Xo turned 2! I can't believe that she is 2 and that we have been here for 2 years. Time goes by so fast!
Xoie's friends came over to help her celebrate. We love having them over!

Here are most of her friends. I don't know where Gage and Lea were, sorry I didn't get you in the picture! Payton is thrilled!

Xoie is into coloring so we went for a crayon cake. I think it turned out pretty good. It was fun and easy to make.

The love that these two have for each other is amazing. They can't go anywhere with out knowing where the other one is. It has been so much fun to watch them grow, develop, and turn into best friends. What more could a mom ask for?

After a long night of playing, opening gifts, eating cake, and being told to get into the basement because of tornado warnings, we were wiped out! I went to put the kids down, told them a story and this is how we ended up!

Happy Birthday Xo, we are so excited you are in our family!

Going Private

I know that I have said this before, but this time I am serious. I am going private. If you would like me to add you onto the list, leave a comment. I will leave it open for about a week. Sorry for the inconvenience.
