pure jealousy

If anyone knows the type of hair that runs on my side of the family, you will understand this post. I could back comb all day long and my hair would never stay styled like this. It drives me crazy!

All I have to do w/ Xo's hair is get a round brush and blow dry her hair and it stay's full all day long.
Is it bad to be jealous of your daughter's hair when she's not even 2?

..my new hobby..

I don't know where my new excitement w/ bows came from, but I love making them. It is so much fun to get ribbon together and then figure out what I am going to do w/ it.
Anyway, for those of you who have asked to see them, here are a few of what I have made. Enjoy.

This is my bow holder. I saw it on some site and loved the idea. It was easy to make, but even better, it didn't take a lot of time.

...funny story...

So today at church a very eccentric brother got up to sing. He did a good job and the whole time he was singing Payton didn't move. He was very interested in what was going on.
Anyway, when he was done singing Payton had a huge smile on his face. He turned to me and said
"Mom, brother ___ is crazy"!
Mike and I couldn't hold in our laughter.

the new hair product...

Payton is going to be rich one day! He is already trying to come up w/ the next BIG thing in hair care. Take a look for yourself...

I got the kids their lunch and then went in the kitchen to get my lunch ready. I heard them laughing and know that something was going on. Well, when I looked in the dinning room I saw Payton rubbing BB-Q sauce all over in her hair.

Oh, the things they come up w/!

Xo didn't seem to mind. She was laughing the whole time.

I don't think anyone thinks of going to the Zoo in December, but when the temp outside is around 60 degrees who can pass it up?
We were able to go to the Zoo w/ the Dorny's and we had a great time. Thanks for inviting us to go!

Matt insisted on holding Payton's hand. Payton entertained the idea long enough for me to get this side shot, but after that he would have nothing to do w/ Matt's hand. Sorry Matt.

The Giraffe are across the pond that these fish are in, and all Payton could do was watch the fish. He couldn't care less about the Giraffe or what it was doing. He even roped Jane and Matt into watching the fish as well.

I don't know why I like this picture so much, but I do. These two boys love to get together and play. It is going to be a sad day when we move away from each other and also from Isaac and Lia. Payton has gotten very close to all of his friends and we are fortunate enough to have all of them close by.

And, here is Xo. She was looking at the Gorilla's here. She is so fascinated by them. I love her expression.

..at long last..

I have decided to get back on track and start posting again. So here is to the 5 people who read our blog!
Things have been a bit crazy here. Mike started a new semester in January, and he is really enjoying it. He is actually learning the things he is interested in and to my knowledge he is doing really well!
He better be, because every night at 8:00 p.m. he is ready for bed, and he naps during the day if he can.
In January one of my resolutions was to get Payton potty trained. We started out by buying him his own potty. He was so excited about it and started peeing in it right away. I was also so excited (please remember the word was) thinking that I was done w/ one kid in diapers. About 2 weeks passed w/ him peeing on the toilet w/ just a few reminder's from me, and things were looking good. Up until the day that we were going to conquer pooing in the toilet. I tried to bribe him w/ anything and everything, and nothing was working. So I tried Kate's (Jon and Kate plus 8) method of making him sit on the toilet until he went. Well, two hours later and him falling asleep on the toilet I figured that was not going to work either. I was getting so frustrated because he refused to poo on the toilet and eventually he refused to pee on the toilet. I was not only changing Xo's diaper's, I was also changing 2-3 set's of clothing in a day. He was mean and uncontrollable, so I decided to stop w/ the potty training. Mike is not very happy w/ the idea, but having my loving son back is worth every diaper of his that I change. One day it will happen right? Please tell me I am right!
Xo is learning and growing up way too fast. The other day we were driving home. Mike and I heard her singing Happy Birthday to me. Payton realized what she was singing and joined in. I guess it's never too early for the birthday song right! She is talking a lot and is hilarious to watch all day long.
She has started teasing Payton, and he hates it. She will act like she is giving him a toy and before he can grab it, she pulls it back and runs away laughing. Payton get's frustrated, but he can't do anything about it because he taught her that by doing it to her.
I will post some pictures of some of the things we did while Mike was out of school, but it's 12:30 now and I will be awakened by 2 little people at 7:30 so I have to get some sleep in.
